Goals and objectives:

PEARLS primary goal is to improve compliance and adherence of patients taking
Highly Active Antiretroviral Therapy (HAART), by providing medication management
for patients with HIV/AIDS by a licensed pharmacist, residency trained in HIV/Infectious
Diseases. PEARLS' aim is to empower and educate patients regarding their disease and
their medication regimen. In addition, the pharmacist will collaborate with physicians
and other healthcare providers in the medication management as well as disease state
management of HIV/AIDS patients. |

PEARLS overall goal for patients are to provide them with one-on-one education and
counseling regarding their medication regimen, which will increase compliance and
adherence leading to healthier and longer living. Our overall goal for healthcare
providers is to become a professional support system in the medication management of
their HIV/AIDS patients in regards to minimizing or preventing adverse events, drug-drug
interactions, side effects, and much more.
